The Wild released...

Here at last are the long awaited images from the release of The Wild at the Jewels for Christmas event in Wellington on the third of December.
Please forgive us for the delay, Christmas is such a frantic time, and we have been VERY busy in the workshop!
Two of our beautiful models, Sarah and Bridget.
We would like to thank Stephen A'Court for taking all our photos on the evening... he has captured the wonderful magical quality of the scene just perfectly!

You might be interested to know the story behind this range from The Wild... as the name suggests, Annie and I have taken our inspiration from the creatures of the wild - and in this range, we have looked to the forest creatures: the stag, the fox and the owl.

We have used elements of design from each of these animals, the antler of the stag, the feathers and talons of an owl and the fur and tail of the fox.

Bridget (on the right) is wearing the Fox-tail lariat, in silver with a small citrine.
Sarah is wearing one of the bronze double chain necklaces.

Each animal is paired with a different precious stone, that reminds you of their habitat and mood. The Fox is linked with Citrine, a clear amber coloured stone, reminiscent of  warm sunlight for basking in.
The stag's antlers are paired with green tourmaline, in delicious shades of leafy, olive and moss green, like filtered light through a forest canopy...
The owl is given the moonstone, like a clear drop of dew or a distant haunting moon.

The pieces also come in either white silver, antiqued silver with a hint of tarnish, or bronze. They are carved lovingly with textures of feather and fur.

The enchanted garden party, the beautiful models chat over tea and tarot cards...

For the launch of The Wild we transformed the lounge of the Paramount into an enchanted garden, where our models and musicians could lounge and create a charmed diorama.

Michelle Scullion and Ale Acevedo were our gypsy players, sending ethereal gorgeous music soaring over the evening.
Annie looking lovely!

The Jewels for Christmas boutique jewellery market was the perfect place to launch The Wild, with so many avid jewellery lovers about!

Annie started the Jewels for Christmas event three years ago now, and it has been growing in elegance, atmosphere and popularity ever since!
It's not just a place for girls to come and shop either, we spotted many a hot young gentleman purchasing, for both themselves and their girlfriends.

It was a superb evening, warm, with none of that pesky Wellington wind to bother us.

Maria  reading her tarot....
The costumes were styled by Cathy Tree Harris, and you can see her beautiful treatment of our colour pallette in the outfits the girls got to wear.  Maria Dubrowska is a divine contemporary dancer, and as it turns out, can do your tarot for you as well~ that's what we like in a girl... a little bit of magic and mystery!

Our Feather rings...

We just had to add in this pretty image of the feather ring - a very popular number on the launch night!
Available in bronze or silver (or gold on request) these a a solid carved band, able to be fitted to your size, and suit both men and women.

Inspired by the owl - these rings are a carved sequence of feathers, from large to small with a smooth section at the back to allow for sizing.

The launch... The Wild is out there!

Hello our fellow Wilders!

Just a quick note to let you know we greatly enjoyed meeting you all at Jewels for Christmas last night!
We hope to have some lovely images to share with you all soon, thanks to our fabulous photographer Stephen A'Court!

In the mean time, we are still picking up greenery from the Paramount floor, finding interesting places to store branches and figuring out where to put everything that we fitted on the stage!
It was so wonderful to see the overwhelmingly positive response that you had to the new range from The Wild - and I hope you all send us in comments and posts to let us know what you think!

We will be posting images of the range shortly - alongside images from the launch.

Massive thanks to all the lovely people who put their creativity towards making the launch such a magical affair... here are some of them and their websites / facebook links so you can check them out and have a look see at the friends of The Wild:

Cathy Tree Harris  - costumier extraordinaire - who did all the styling for the costumes... Tree is a super creative lady who has a lot of The Wild in her so look out for future collaborations with this one.

This image (right) is of Tree's piece "She Looks Good in a Sack" and our awesome makeup artist Michele Perry also did the makeup for this particular shot.

Michele Perry made us all look cool and pretty for the launch of The Wild - (thanks Michele!!!!) no mean feat considering the unusual temperatures that Wellington is reaching at the moment!

Stephen A'Court took pictures of us all running around just before you all arrived - and then took pictures of us swanning about once you did arrive!

The amazingly magical and ethereal music that was wafting over the whole event was performed and composed by Michelle Scullion and Ale Acevedo. Michelle is a well known and highly respected musician in NZ and Ale is recently arrived to Wellington from Chile.

If you had an interest in a particular piece from The Wild, but maybe it wasn't in your size... do please contact us in our Wellington studio, and we can arrange to make a piece for you.
We will also be posting a list of stockists around NZ and beyond.

Much Love,

Annie and Vaune.
